OVERVIEW

The course is case-based and involves a lot of practical training in small groups outdoors. Special attention is given by the instructors to making the course entertaining, relevant, and memorable.

In two parts, the course covers illness and injury that may occur on a trip.

  • The first part covers unconscious people, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, foreign bodies in the throat, heart attacks, strokes, and hypothermia.

  • First aid for falls and fractures, bleeding, burns, allergies, and diabetes will be covered in part 2.

Each part includes patient examination, notification, and first aid equipment you should bring on a trip. Those interested in improving their ability to manage groups in an emergency can practice with tailored scenarios.
