OVERVIEW

These courses are designed to give you a grounding in basic sea kayaking and safety skills. In most of the Norwegian sea kayak-rental places you need a NPF “Wet Card” certification to rent a kayak. We offer two NPF courses that qualify for a Wet Card: an introduction course (3 hours) and a NPF Beginner course 2* (16 hours) and intermediate course 3* (16 hours)

PRICES

Beginners sea kayak courses: Half day (3 hours) course: 1100 NOK. Two days course: 3000 NOK.

GRADE

This is an introductory course. Swimming proficiency is required..

GROUP SIZE AND GUIDES

The group is limited to 6 persons with a 1:6 guide ratio. The instructors are sea trained and regcognised by NPF (Norwegian Canoe Association) British Canoeing and the International Sea Kayak Guide Alliance (ISKGA).

LOCATION

Depending on your needs and preferences, we will choose a location for this course.

DURATION

Introduction course (NPF introkurs): 4 hours

Beginners course (NPF grunnkurs): 16 hours

Intermediate course (NPF teknikkurs): 16 hours

WEATHER CONDITIONS

In bad weather, the arranged activity will continue regardless. If the weather conditions are dangerous, the instructor will cancel the activity. If no alternative is found, Norvantur will refund the registration.

SAFETY

Our outdoor activities have a minimal risk to our participants. At Norvantur, we are trained to assess the risks and trained in rescue techniques and first aid. Severe or extreme conditions are not part of our program.

CANCELLATION

In case of cancellation by the participant, we charge cancellation costs. These cancellation costs depend on the number of days remaining until the start of the activity. Participants cannot claim compensation in case of cancellation due to ‘force majeure’. In case of cancellation of the activity by Norvantur, the full registration sum will always be refunded. For safety reasons it may be necessary to change the program during the activity.

COVID-19

If you cannot participate to booked activities due to travel restrictions such as border closures, flight suspensions, quarantine, you can postpone the activity or ask for a refund of any pre-payments.
