  • Equipment: Discover how to select and pack the right gear for winter, including packing backpacks and sledges.

  • Trip planning and route Selection: Learn how to choose routes that keep you out of trouble and minimize risks.

  • Risk Assessment: Assess and mitigate risks during your winter expeditions.

  • Navigation: Improve your winter navigation skills to stay on course even in challenging conditions.

  • Campsite Organization and routines: Master the art of setting up a safe and enjoyable winter campsite, including using primus in tents.

  • Dealing with the Elements: Develop techniques to handle wind, whiteouts, and extreme cold.

  • Hypothermia, Carbon Monoxide Poisoning, Frostbite: Understand how to recognize, prevent, and treat these winter hazards.

  • Emergency Bivouac: Prepare for unexpected situations and learn about overnight stays in snow holes and improvised shelters. 

 Please note that this course does not cover navigation of glaciers and avalanche areas.

PRICES

The webinar fee is 1250 NOK. When you sign up for the two-day practical course, we'll deduct the webinar fee from your course fee.

GRADE

The course is suitable for everybody who has an interest in winter trekking.

GROUP SIZE AND GUIDES

The webinar is limited to 6 participants to ensure ample time for questions and personalized interaction.

DURATION

The webinar lasts 2 hours, and we aim to adjust the start time based on participants' time zones.

CANCELLATION

In case of cancellation by the participant, we charge cancellation costs. These cancellation costs depend on the number of days remaining until the start of the activity. Participants cannot claim compensation in case of cancellation due to ‘force majeure’. In case of cancellation of the activity by Norvantur, the full registration sum will always be refunded. For safety reasons it may be necessary to change the program during the activity.
